Jackson, MI: Second Murder Suicide This Week In Jackson County

Friday afternoon Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 6000 block of Hawkins Road in Henrietta Township for a personal welfare check and found a couple dead. 75 year old Hobert Claude Prater died of a self inflicted gunshot wound, investigators believe he took the life of his wife 60 year old Mary Elizabeth Prater before turning the gun on himself. Investigation in continue but right now investigators believe the incident was a result of marital problems.
