Westminster, CA: Police: Argument leads to deadly stabbing

WESTMINSTER – A heated argument Monday night led to the stabbing death of a 23-year-old woman from Westminster, police said.
At about 9:15 p.m., Westminster police received a report of a woman being stabbed by her boyfriend at the 15100 block of Brookhurst Street, said Westminster police detective Alan Aoki.

Officers arrived within minutes and were directed by witnesses to nearby bushes in a carport area of the apartment complex, where the victim's body was found, Aoki said.
Officers found the suspect, who was later identified as Ahmad Siddiqi, 23, in the parking lot near the victim and took him into custody without incident, Aoki added.
Aoki said it appears that Siddiqi, from Alexandria, Va., and the victim were arguing just before he chased after her with a knife. Siddiqi caught her in the parking lot of the complex, where he stabbed her multiple times.
Detectives are not revealing what the couple was arguing about, Aoki said.
Emergency personnel immediately began CPR on the victim, Aoki said. She was taken to UCI Medical where she was later pronounced dead.
Siddiqi is in custody with bail set at $1 million, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department jail records. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
Detectives are not releasing the name of the victim until her family is notified of her death.
