INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was shot and killed outside a south side Indianapolis apartment early Sunday, police said.
Indianapolis Metro police officers were called out to the 1400 block of Weber Drive just before 5 a.m. on reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived they found a man that had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after being notified about the shooting, police said they received more calls about another man seen running from the apartment complex.
IMPD spokesperson Ofc. Kendale Adams said K-9 units were used to track down the man, who was eventually caught.
"The potential suspect is Brad Davis, 21, of Indianapolis. He is an ex-boyfriend of the apartment's owner. The victim appears to be the new boyfriend of the apartment's owner," said Adams.
Davis was taken into custody for further questioning. The victim's identity was not released.
Investigators suspect the shooting is the result of a domestic altercation that escalated.
