Around 12:30 p.m. today, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare concern call from an employer because one of his employees had not shown up for work. When deputies arrived at 2707 Glenlea St., #B, Lake Charles, they discovered two bodies inside the home. The preliminary investigation reveals David H. Hoffpauir, 43, 2245 N. Kingswood Circle, Lake Charles, shot and killed his ex-wife, Melissa Hoffpauir, 43, 2707 Glenlea St., #B, LC, then turned the gun on himself. The Coroner's Office pronounced both dead at the scene.
The investigation reveals the last time anyone spoke to David Hoffpauir appears to be around 9:30 last night. This case remains under investigation by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and the findings are preliminary.
