Albany, GA: Albany man killed in domestic violence shooting

ALBANY, GA – Deadly domestic violence in Albany Tuesday.

A man was shot to death in a home on Habersham Road..just hours after police warned him to leave.

Around 10:30 Monday night, police were called to a house where 33 year old Marlina Hamilton and 32-year-old Christopher Donaldson were arguing.

Officers ordered Donaldson to leave, but he returned two and a half hours later, and Hamilton shot him.

Hamilton is in jail but so far, she's not been charged.

Prosecutors say domestic disputes are becoming more violent. Dougherty D.A. Greg Edwards said "The bottom line is it has to stop. We must do all we can to stop it. Because ultimately children are effected, not to mention deaths and injuries that we are seeing in our community at this time."

Court records show that Hamilton and Donaldson divorced in 2008, but Police reports say they were living together when Donaldson was killed.
