West Palm Beach, FL: Victim, suspect in suburban West Palm Beach murder identified

Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies arrived at a home on Florida Street in suburban West Palm Beach this afternoon to find one woman dead and another woman injured following an apparent domestic dispute.

The victim was identified as Arisley Rojas, 26, of West Palm Beach.

Deputies are searching for Aniel Escobar, 33. He is described as 5-foot-9-inches, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair, long sideburns and a goatee. He is considered to be very dangerous, said sheriff's office spokesman Eric Davis.

Both Escobar and Rojas are Hispanic, Davis said.

The second female victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, said Det. Rick McAfee of the sheriff's office.

County property records show that Escobar is the owner of the home where the murder occurred at 2509 Florida Street. He bought the home in 2007 for $269,000.

A sheriff's office helicopter buzzed the neighborhoods just west of the Palm Beach Zoo searching for Escobar Saturday afternoon. Two mounted patrols and K-9 units joined the search.

A bystander at the scene overheard a distraught woman saying she believed her brother-in-law stabbed her sister.

Anyone with information about Escobar's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at 561-688-3400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477).
