VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –A Valdosta man has been sentenced to prison for accidentally shooting his girlfriend.
Demetrius Nelson pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
He shot 20-year old Shenika Eady in the neck in a home on Tyndall Drive July 23, 2009.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He'll be eligible for release after five years if he agrees to pay restitution to the victim's family and have no contact with them.
