Authorities say a Gulf coast man strangled a 13-year-old pit bull mix with a zip tie and threatened to do the same to family members.
Authorities say Vladimir Stefanovich Struk was arrested on an animal cruelty charge and remains in Pinellas County jail on Thursday on a $10,000 bail.
Authorities say the dog was found in a trash can on Wednesday and that Struk's wife told police she recently filed for divorce.
A jail official said no attorney was immediately listed for Struk.
