Perris, CA: Mom and daughter found dead in Perris home

Deputies discovered the bodies of a woman and her 6-year-old daughter in their Perris home around 8 a.m. on Saturday. A ten year old girl was also in the home but was unharmed.

A manhunt is underway for Michael Barbar, the husband and father of the two victims. The 52-year-old is wanted for the murder of his wife and young daughter.

Neighbors say that the couple was going through a divorce and that may have been the motive for the violence.

The Sheriff's Department went to the home around 8 a.m. to check on the welfare of the family. Once inside they found Barbers 43-year-old wife, Maysam, and 6-year-old daughter, Tamara, dead.

Authorities also found a 10-year-old girl in the residence. She was unharmed and was another daughter of the couple.

Neighbors say that they are shocked by the violence and they can't believe that Barbar is allegedly to blame.

"That guy to me, he seems pretty nice," Ray Reyes said. "I've seen that the last couple of months he has been acting kind of weird. I know he has been going through a divorce and everything like that, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it."

One neighbor said that the divorce may have pushed Barbar over the edge.

The 52-year-old remains on the run and is believed to be driving one of two vehicles. Both of them are Nissan Maxima's. The first is a 2004 Nissan model, license plate number 5GMV103. The second is a 2008 Nissan model, license plate number 6BRV641.

If you see either of these vehicles or have any information on the murders you are asked to call the Riverside County Sheriff's Homicide Unit at (760) 393-3500.
