Simpsonville, SC: Hwy 14 Back Open After Apparent Murder Suicide In Simpsonville

**Update 3:45p.m.**

Greenville County coroner Mike Ellis has released the names of both victims.

58 year-old Beverly Ann Thompson of 201 Highway 14 in Simpsonville. She was found dead in her driveway next to a vehicle around 7:50 am.

Autopsy: Multiple Gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Ruled as a homicide

Ralph Thompson of 108 Tracy Lane in Simpsonville. Found in a field near Highway 14 and Stokes Road around 8:10 am.

Autopsy: Single gun shot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide.

**Update 2:36 p.m.**
The Greenville Sheriff’s Office reports Highway 14 is back open at Stokes Road in Simpsonville. Investigators are continuing to work the case.

**Update 9:15 a.m.**
Highway 14 is shutdown while deputies investigate a crime scene at Highway 14 at Stokes Road in Simpsonville.

Shea Smith with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says that the woman was shot and her body is in the backyard of the residence. Investigators believe the suspect got into his car and went about 200 yards, pulled his car into a field and apparently shot himself. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office is is on the scene.
Greenville County Sheriff’s Office reports 2 people have been shot in separate locations on Highway 14 in Simpsonville. Matt Armstrong with the Sheriff’s office says dispatch received a call about a disturbance at 201 Highway 14. Deputies responded and found a female shot to death in the driveway of the residence. The sheriff’s office says the suspect went across the street and he was found dead with a gunshot wound. Investigators are on the scene.
