Morrison, IL: Rock Falls man pleads guilty to wife's murder

Whiteside County authorities say a Rock Falls man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the strangling of his on Labor Day of last year.

Whiteside County State's Attorney Gary Spencer says 53-year-old Emilio Celestino Jr. entered the plea Thursday and faces from 20 to 60 years in prison at his Jan. 13 sentencing before Judge John Hauptman.

Police say Celestino strangled his wife of nearly four year, Linda, after nearly 24 hours of quarreling about his marijuana use.

Court records indicate Celestino has a history of domestic violence arrests and marijuana use would have been a violation of his parole.
