Hazelwood police were trying to determine the relationship between a woman and
a man found shot and killed Sunday inside a home along the 4800 block of
Aubuchon Road and another man found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot in
Bridgeton, said Hazelwood Lt. Jim Hudanick.
The man and woman in the house were found about 6 p.m., Hudanick said. Three
toddlers inside the home at the time of the shooting were not injured, he said.
Hazelwood Police Chief Carl Wolf was quoted in news reports saying a man called
his father, who lives in Texas, and told him he had shot two people at a mobile
home park and asked his father to take care of his children. The man's father
then called Hazelwood police, who found the victims in the house.
Hudanick said a passer-by found the suspect in his car a short distance from
the murder scene and called police, who found the suspect dead from a
self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Wolf was quoted in news reports as saying the suspect used a 12-gauge shot gun
to kill the couple and himself.
Police would not release the names of the victims.
