Three year boy witnesses stalker gun down his mother and infant sister
They are searching for a “known acquaintance” of Henry’s in connection with the murder.
Henry’s 3-year-old—Curry’s—was discovered unharmed, sources told the Tribuneand the New York Daily News.
Immediate family members did not comment but a man indentifying himself as Henry's uncle say they believe they know the who the gunman is.
"She had a stalker boyfriend," he told WMAQ in Chicago. "And she had a restraining order against him and she was trying to avoid all this."
A Knicks source close to Curry described him as “distraught” on hearing the news of his former girlfriend’s death and what his son witnessed, according to The News.
Curry flew back to New York from Philadelphia after a game on Saturday, the source said.
The Knicks center has had on-going tragedy in his personal life since being traded from the Chicago Bulls in 2005.
His former driver sued him for sexual harassment and racial discrimination, accusing Curry of unwanted advances, pointing a gun at him and making "abusive, anti-Semitic epithets."
In 2007, Curry's family was robbed in their suburban Chicago home by masked men who took cash and jewelry after duct taping the family in the house.
No one had been charged in Saturday's killings as of Sunday afternoon, and results of autopsies were not yet available.
Curry's attorney, Kelly Saindon, said the basketball player's family was devastated by the news.
The Knicks issued a statement Sunday on Curry's behalf asking the media to respect the privacy of the two families.
"The Curry family is deeply saddened by this tragic loss and will keep the Henry family in their prayers," the statement said.
Police believe the killings near the city's South Side were the result of a domestic dispute, Bond said. She would not elaborate.
Rob Bryant, who said he was Nova Henry's uncle, told the Chicago Sun-Times that Henry had a restraining order against her boyfriend.
The city recently has seen several high-profile deaths blamed on domestic violence. A brother-in-law of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges he fatally shot Hudson's mother, brother and nephew. Prosecutors allege William Balfour killed them in October 2008 because he was upset the actress's sister had been dating another man.

"Fred did it."
That's what Noah Curry - the 3-year-old son of Knicks center Eddy Curry - told relatives about the murders of his mother and 9-month-old half-sister, which he witnessed.
"Fred" is Fredrick Goings, an abusive former boyfriend of slain mom Nova Henry, her stepuncle Tom Henry said.
"He told everybody, 'Fred did it,'" Henry said of the boy.
The Henry family is outraged that Chicago police have not charged Goings with killing Nova Henry and her infant daughter, Ava, he said.
"Why hasn't anybody arrested this man?" Tom Henry, who lives in Houston, told the Daily News. "They're afraid he's going to come back. ... They're terrified."
Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond said detectives "interviewed" Goings about the killings while he was in custody in Indiana.
Bond would not say why Goings, a 36-year-old lawyer, was freed. "We have to continue to gather evidence," she said.
Goings, who also lives on the South Side of Chicago, could not be located for comment.
Nova Henry's family began blaming him shortly after the bodies were found in the slain woman's condo on Saturday.
They called Goings a violent stalker. Court records revealed Nova Henry took out a restraining order against him in 2006.
Goings did legal work for Nova Henry - and moved in with the 24-year-old mom over Curry's objections.
Curry, 28, who is married and has four children with his wife, Patrice, was spotted Tuesday at his parents' home in suburban Chicago.
It was unclear if Curry was reunited with his son.
Noah was covered with blood - but not hurt - when his grandmother found him sleeping in a chair near the bodies of his murdered mom and her infant daughter.
Fredrick D. Goings today pleaded not guilty in the murders of New York Knick Eddy Curry’s ex-girlfriend Nova Henry and her 10-month-old daughter Ava.
Goings' attorney, John Lyke, also withdrew from representing the 36-year-old Goings, claiming the man couldn't afford a private attorney.
But Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Jim McKay questioned how Goings, also an attorney, could not have the funds to hire a lawyer.
Judge Jorge Alonso ordered Goings to file an affidavit to prove he is indigent before he is assigned a public defender.
The gunshot-riddled bodies of Henry, 24, and her daughter with Curry were discovered late January in Henry’s Near South Side condo.
Curry’s 3-year-old son with Henry — Noah — was also in the condo but was unharmed.
Goings had a prior romantic relationship with Henry and represented her in a paternity case against Curry.
Goings was arrested for the double homicide on Feb. 20.
